Welcome to Lonetree Ranch!
Our goal at LONETREESTOCKHORSES is to raise Paints and Quarterhorses that have performance ability, good minds and the quality to perform successfully in the show ring and on the trail too. Talented, good looking, gentle horses with great minds.
We have a small band of broodmares selected for their conformation, trainability and working bloodlines. They are also sweet natured and like people, which transfers to their foals. Bloodlines have included DOC O LENA, SCOTCH BAR TOMMY, MR. NORFLEET, SNIPPER REEED, HANCOCK, ROULETTE BARS, FAR UTE KENO, FRITZ COMMAND, SONNY DEE BAR, CLAYBOY.
Our stock have gone on to do Reining, Team Roping, Penning, Jumping (Yes!), competing at shows and also ranch work.
With our summers in the sunny Okanagan of BC and winters in Arizona, we have the opportunity to raise foals in a varied environment with hills to climb and pastures to play in, and then send them on for training with a choice of many talented trainers in the southwest. We start our youngsters moving cattle in the pastures, giving them a good start on their careers.
We raise COR-DEX sport cattle for use in Team Roping - a cross of typical Corriente roping cattle with Dexter cattle, (a small Black Angus-type) we have produced smaller roping prospects which do not grow too fast so can be used for several seasons of roping. Roping calves and breeding bulls available.
